Barbara Walters General David Petraeus has been chosen as the most interesting and exciting in 2010. Favorites revealed last night on her “10 Most Interesting People of 2010″ special. Veteran news personality Petraeus and his staff feel are worthy of honor, he considers himself to be “American Hero” – based on its role in the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan. Interestingly, it was a political figure who occupied the list last year – that is, the Fist Lady Michelle Obama.
Also included in the list of 10 Barbara Walters’ most exciting year 2010 was an eighty-year-old who – and a national treasure – Betty White. It comes as no surprise, considering the fact that White has become one of the “commodity” hottest celebrities lately. In the case, is that really fit and inspiring. In nearly 90 years, White has more courage and strength than most people half his age.
To magically make the list is Mark Zuckerberg. Despite the apparent lack of it, we should praise Zuckerberg for his loyalty to his old girlfriend, who he has been with since before setting up a social networking site that is successful disgusting. To be sure, the wealth and fame, Zuckerberg could easily be a date – and blankets – dozens of beautiful women (just ask Tiger Woods).
The other members of this list, including pop star baby face, Justin, who castmembers MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” winning an Oscar actress Sandra Bullock, actress and new “American Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez, Miami Heat basketball player LeBron James, the future daughter of Kate Middleton and former Governor of Alaska and perhaps Sarah Palin 2012 presidential candidate.
Not surprisingly, most of the 10 most interesting people are celebrities. Americans tend to attach much importance to the award and the performers. It is often said, in fact, that celebrity is the American people what the Royals are Brits. That said, they are the ones to be admired and idolized. Americans tend to mistakenly equate fame with interest – and this is quite disturbing.
It will be refreshing to see Walters came up with an annual top ten list of non-celebrities who made “interesting” things with their lives (there’s no shortage of them). This list may be full of heroes doing without the services of important matters in the fields such as medicine, education, social welfare and religion.
