Retirees tennis star Martina Hingis was married showjumper Thibault Hutin France in Paris, a celebrity magazine Schweizer Illustrierte said Switzerland.
According to the magazine website, the former 30-year Grand Slam champions and riders 24 years old held their civil wedding on Friday in front of the family.
“Our wedding came as a surprise to many people, but has been in planning long in advance,” said Hingis magazine, which on Monday said it would publish exclusive pictures of the event.
The couple intends to hold their wedding next summer, the magazine said.
Hingis won five Grand Slam titles before retiring in 2007, when he was suspended for two years for testing positive for cocaine at Wimbledon. He objected to consume drugs, but did not appeal the ban, which ended last September.
