5856573079 eec2f29fed Can Doctors To Be Trusted?

Even though one hates to admit it, the family doctor is no longer what it used to be. Just like the regular hairdresser who at first cannot do enough to please his or her client, after a while they also begin to take its long standing clients for granted. From a personal point of view and experience I need to say that this has happened: not only with hairdressers but also with doctors.

The last two times are the ones that have left me with a bad taste in my mouth. One particular winter I contracted a bad bout of influenza, needing a certificate for work even though I knew that the flu had to run its course, I went to the doctor. He never bothered to listen to my chest even though I said I was coughing.  When I requested the rest of the week off, he told me that was not necessary; two days were more than sufficient to recover, if I did not get better to go back and see him. Needless to say, when the two days were up I was feeling worse. Knowing that my condition had deteriated, I rang the surgery to make another appointment only to be told that the earliest I could see the doctor was  in three days time.

Luckily I decided to visit a new clinic where I was diagnosed with pneumonia. After intense medical treatment and quite a few weeks at home I could finally say that I recovered, but only to be left with permanent damage to one of my lungs.

After this I now make it a regular habit to keep at least three doctors under my belt, so when something goes wrong and I’m not happy with the diagnosis, it’s off to another doctor.

Good health is vital for a happy and long life and especially for older people. Unfortunately unlike hair that will grow back no matter how bad the cut or the colour is, when it comes to one’s health, once damage is done it takes a very long time to recove, or it never happens and the person has to suffer for the rest of its life.Or what is left of it.
