Having a very busy and hectic schedule can take its toll on you in a number of ways that you might not even notice. I entered into Engineering and there started my hectic life. I used to get up early morning at 6 AM n used to skip on my breakfast to catch my college bus at 7 AM. 2 hours journey from home to college wasn’t exciting either. The pollution used to make me feel filthy and as if I had dust all over me all the time. Though I enjoyed my college life to the fullest still my hair and skin weren’t in a good shape after sometime. I even lost a lot of weight and hair-fall became a major issue for me! When I got little dry patches on my skin that was the time I decided to get a medical check-up. There the doctor advised me to get my haemoglobin checked! Well I hadn’t expected but my haemoglobin count had dropped down to 8 and this was causing me various health problems. Then was the time I sat back and thought of paying attention to my own self. I mean who wants to get battered hair and lack-lustre skin at just 21!

I consulted a health expert and he told me to modify my diet. I had to eat a breakfast of sprouted beans, and an apple a day was must along with spinach in my diet. Initially I thought I wouldn’t ever be able to eat all those things, to even think of eating all the green and leafy vegetables and cutting on the fast food was nightmarish! But when I started eating right I really enjoyed my new diet! The sprouted beans and spinach aren’t that bad to eat whatever the common belief might be about all the healthy food not appealing to taste buds! I started having sprouted beans everyday as breakfast along with spinach dishes twice a week in my diet. I also included other leafy vegetables and two glasses of milk and other things for protein supplement in my diet (since I am a vegetarian I couldn’t supplement my diet with non-veg). One thing that fairly easy to implement was drinking around 2.5 litres of water everyday. It has its own advantages. I made a diet plan and stuck to it. The effects were visible in around a week’s time. I used to feel less dizzy and healthy rather than feeling weak and sleepy all the time. These all things are caused by dropping level of haemoglobin in the blood! The hair-fall became less in a fortnight and visibly vanished in a month’s time. I was very happy and the visible results inspired to stick to a healthy diet. I feel healthy now and how-so-ever busy or hectic my schedule is now I never compromise on my diet plans. After all we need energy to carry our tasks all day long! I do eat fast food too but I keep a check on it and preform regular exercise to stay fit. By just making little modifications in out diet and lifestyle we can attain wonders. Now I feel more healthy and level of work that I “willingly” do has increased manifolds! By just accepting a healthy way of living now I am actually living my life to fullest!
